Comedy Night aids health care foundation Valley24.com
Chris Monty has been performing stand-up comedy for 12 years.
The New York City native last performed in the area in August at the Funny Farm Comedy Club, when it was in the Radisson Hotel Sharon.
Now, he'll return to the Radisson on Friday with his best friend Big Joe Starr for a night to benefit Primary Health Network Charitable Foundation.
"We are two friends who love what we do and love each other and we bring that to the show," he says. "Like Frank and Dean."
Monty says he's pleased to return to Western Pennsylvania because the people are "the real people of America."
"I like the area and I like the people," he says.
The comedian says his style of comedy is "self-deprecating" and focuses largely on his relationship and family.
"Joe Starr and myself are both everyday kind of guys," Monty says, saying that their comedy is largely autobiographical.
Monty says Starr's work focuses on his wife, while his own includes pressure to marry his live-in girlfriend, including from his Italian father and Irish mother. Monty says he and Starr even have family roots in vaudeville.
