Cummings Receives Recognition For Support Of Oral Healthcare

Congressman has worked to support access to care, including support in recent healthcare legislation.

(Washington, DC) - Congressman Elijah E. Cummings, (MD-07) was recognized Saturday, along with Senator Ben Cardin, by the Maryland Dental Hygienists Association. Both Cummings and Cardin received a plaque for their continued support of access to preventive oral healthcare, both in Maryland and nationally.

The plaque was awarded at the Sealant Saturday Community Event, which took place at the Dental School of the University of Maryland in Baltimore. The School's Dental Hygiene Program partners with the Maryland Dental Hygienists' Association annually to offer tooth sealant, free-of-charge to students in local schools. This service is targeted at children ages 6-12 who are receiving reduced-fee or free lunches.
